Red Creek

Red Creek is a coastal blackwater stream that forms near Lumberton in Lamar County and ends at the Black Creek, near the Pascagoula River in Jackson County. Red Creek is part of the East Gulf Coast Plain eco-region with a drainage area of over 400 square miles. Red Creek gets its name from the reddish stain that naturally-occurring tannins impart to the water.
