Kayak the Blueways

A Land Trust Fundraiser

Whether you live in Pascagoula or Kiln, Wiggins or Long Beach, there is one thing we all have in common – a love of the waterways surrounding us. So let’s get out there! Show your support of the Land Trust through kayaking! Kayak for conservation!

Here’s how it works:

  • Register using the form below, and commit to raising at least $50 from a minimum of three sources by November 15, 2021. Here is the link to our store, where your friends & family can make a donation to your campaign.

  • Get your friends & family involved! Kayaking is super fun to do in groups! Why not make it into a friendly competition – who can raise the most money for the Land Trust? Or who can paddle the most miles?

  • Get out there and kayak! Track your routes using your favorite app; you’ll need to send your routes and photos to us at info@ltmcp.org to win prizes, but please wait until the end of the season and send them all at once!

  • Post on social media using the tag #landtrustkayaking to help with your fundraising efforts. Don’t forget: $50 is just the minimum…

You have nearly nine months to get your kayaking in - the event will end on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Most number of kayakers paddling as a group on a single day

  • Most miles kayaked on a single day

  • Most miles kayaked during the entire event timeframe

  • Best photo

  • Most successful fundraiser

Don’t forget to use an app to track your routes and take photos! We will need these to award prizes.

This fundraiser will support the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain’s mission. When you tell friends, family, and co-workers that you’re taking on a kayak challenge for your own health, fitness and enjoyment PLUS are doing something to preserve our environment for future generations, many will proudly sponsor you! Donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the Land Trust, which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and will support our conservation and restoration programs.

Fundraising Tips

Post about your kayaking adventures frequently! Tell your friends and family why you are a blueways kayaker and how you connect with the Land Trust’s mission. Tell them why being connected to the outdoors and/or the Land Trust is important to you. Share why protecting the environment matters to you, and show photos, videos and stories of your kayaking experiences.

Ask people to support you, early and often! Your family, friends and colleagues will want to support you! You are giving them a great opportunity to invest in a good cause. Direct your friends and family to our website; they can donate to your campaign here or by clicking on Support at the top of our home page, then Kayaking the Blueways.

Don’t forget to thank your supporters! We will send them an automatic “thank you”, but it is always a good idea to send a personal thank you as well.

Don’t have a kayak?

No worries — we’ve got you covered! We will be hosting two kayaking day trips this year; one on April 24 and the other on October 16. There will be a fee charged for the rentals. Email us now to reserve your spot!
