What We Do

We plant trees

The Land Trust has been planting trees in southern Mississippi ever since Hurricane Katrina devastated the region in 2005. We have planted thousands of live oaks, magnolia, bald cypress, river birch, red maple, southern pecan trees and longleaf pine trees and have worked in partnership with many partners to do so. If you would like us to plant a tree in memorial of a loved one, to celebrate a special anniversary or just because you love trees, please click here!

We help educate young people

We work with schools, scouts, Climb CDC, GulfCorps and others to give young people ranging in age from children to young adults opportunities to learn about nature. We provide lesson plans for teachers to use to educate children in school as well as opportunities for young people to work with us on restoration projects and in our office. We love empowering the youth of Mississippi so that they develop a love for nature, and recognize the need to work to protect land and our natural resources.
